This is a quick and dirty guide to programming a memory channel into the Baofeng UV-82.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re in channel mode power off the radio, hold down the Menu button and power it on. The radio will go into frequency mode. All operations below are done from Frequency Mode\u2026 Here we go:
A. Set up a memory channel for a repeater:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Enter the receive frequency on the keypad<\/li>
  2. [Menu] -> 11 -> [Menu] -> Set RX Tone Frequency -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
  3. [Menu] -> 13 -> [Menu] -> Set TX Tone Frequency -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
  4. [Menu] -> 26 -> [Menu] -> Set Frequency Offset -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
  5. [Menu] -> 25 -> [Menu] -> Set offset direction -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
  6. [Menu] -> 27 -> [Menu] -> Enter Channel Number -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
  7. Enter the transmit frequency on the keypad<\/li>
  8. [Menu] -> 27 -> [Menu] -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    B. Set up a memory channel for a simplex frequency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Enter the operating frequency<\/li>
    2. [Menu] -> 11 -> [Menu] -> Set TX Tone Frequency OR set to OFF -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
    3. [Menu] -> 13 -> [Menu] -> Set TX Tone Frequency OR set to OFF -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
    4. [Menu] -> 25 -> [Menu] -> Set offset direction to off -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
    5. [Menu] -> 27 -> [Menu] -> Enter Channel Number -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      C. To Delete a Channel<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. [Menu] -> 28 -> [Menu] -> Enter Channel Number to Delete -> [Menu] [Exit]<\/li>
      2. Tturn the radio off when you\u2019re done. To enter channel mode, hold the menu button down and turn the radio on.<\/li>
